Covid-19 and Restriction of Movement

Dear Cherished Students, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Re: Covid-19 and Restriction of Movement

In this moment of stillness, let’s take the time to thank God for all the things we may often times take for granted. The fact that we are still breathing, the fact that we can now spend more time with loved ones, the fact that we can rest and recharge, the fact that even under a Restriction of Movement; for many of us; our physical body parts can still move (i.e. not paralysed, handicapped nor injured). The fact that we now have a better, wiser government… And more..

Let’s also decide to use this valuable time wisely. For our dear students, you may want to use this time to practice and improve your English.Practice the techniques and methods taught in class..

For others, let’s use this time to do something beneficial or even profitable for one’s own self-improvement in the long run. Be that spending time on reading the holy Quran, dhikr, listening to positive lectures, reading a good book, mending your clothes, attending to things in your home that need some fixing, exercising, so on and so forth..

On another note, do practice good hygiene habits, always. This may seem obvious but; bathe daily. For Muslims, do your ablutions well as it is said to make sins exit your body even through your nails… and according to science, water washes away germs and viruses down the drain; wash your hands before and after you touch something, etc..

Last but not least; stay calm, healthy and sane. As much as possible, do not panic. Do not stay glued to the news 24/7. Have a break. Practice meditation. Nap. Read positive stories. Watch comedy movies. Read (clean) jokes. Laughter induces dopamine which naturally helps with building a good immune system..

I shall end this message here..Take care, stay calm and keep on keeping on..

Warm Regards,

Yasmin Kamil
